Sun Trade Beads offers a variety of services designed to share about the history and significance of beads in Ghanaian society, provide workshops and lessons to teach others how to create their own beautiful work of art using beads from Ghana, and offer our talented artisans for other designer’s custom and private label production.

We offer lessons in the art of creating beaded jewelry for individuals and groups. Kati has held workshops for team building activities, birthday parties, and art therapy. Workshops can take place in any location, such as: embassies, residencies, student hostels, hotels, offices, and homes. The Sun Trade shop also sells packs of beads and string for aspiring bead stringers.
In 2009, Kati had the pleasure of interacting with USA’s First Lady Michelle Obama and provided a workshop for her daughters during their official visit to Ghana.
Kati Torda is frequently invited to talk about the cultural significance of beads in Ghanaian society. She provides talks and cultural introductions for tour groups and foreign students through various universities and groups such as: The Smithsonian Museum of African Art, New York University, Ashesi University, Peace Corps, and the University of Legon- School of International Training, Accra, Ghana.
In 2013, Kati gave a presentation entitled, The Role of Beads in Ghanaian Societies, at the HIFA (Harare International Festival of the Arts), Harare, Zimbabwe.
Art and Craft Exhibitions
Kati Torda has participated in art and craft exhibitions not only in Ghana and her native Hungary, but also in the Municipal Museum in The Hague (Netherlands), the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York, Harlem Studio Museum in New York, and the Heim und Handwerk Trade Fair in Munich, Germany.

Sun Trade Beads is also available for custom design and private label production for other designers and companies.
Organize Programmes for Individuals and Tour Groups
Sun Trade Beads is also available to organize and accompany individuals and groups to witness cultural events featuring beads, such as a Dipo ceremony, and also to facilitate field trips to witness firsthand the craft of bead making in its various forms, visits to local bead makers and Ghana’s largest Bead Market in Koforidua.
